Over the past 12 years, The Aristocrats – guitarist Guthrie Govan (Steven Wilson, Hans Zimmer, Asia/GPS), bassist Bryan Beller (Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Dethklok), and drummer Marco Minnemann (Steven Wilson, Joe Satriani, Steve Hackett) – have established themselves as one of the most musically original, refreshingly irreverent, and astoundingly entertaining instrumental rock-fusion acts on the planet. Anyone who’s witnessed their live musical high-wire act – employing random amounts of rock, jazz, pop, metal, country, and anything in between – feels the spirit of a true band, one whose improvisational soul allows for anything to happen onstage at any moment…including the occasional Frank Zappa-influenced wink and nod at the audience.

The buzz from their supposedly one-off debut gig at the Anaheim NAMM show in 2011 led to The Aristocrats self-titled debut album. Tracked in just eight days, The Aristocrats [2011] was hailed as an instant classic in leading music publications worldwide, appearing on many of that year’s top ten lists. The Aristocrats then proceeded to make three more critically acclaimed studio albums over the next decade, two of which landed in the Billboard Top 10 Jazz Chart. (Jazz? Ok, sure.) Four world tours and three live albums later, the band is known on five continents as a must-see whirlwind musical experience.

In the midst of breaking the lockdown seal with their worldwide 2022/2023 DEFROST TOUR, the band produced their fifth and most ambitious studio work to date – a concept album. Duck is the story of a web-footed Antarctic island native fleeing a penguin policeman all the way to New York City…where considerable misadventure and danger await. The new album releases on February 16, 2024, coinciding with the DUCKLING tour, a series of five select USA west coast dates to celebrate the occasion. Duck takes The Aristocrats’ collective artistry to a whole new mindblowing – albeit ridiculous – level. More touring is sure to follow.

The Karnivool journey has been a beautifully complicated one. With each album, a new chapter adds to one of Australian music’s most intricate legacies. And with their long-awaited fourth studio album, In Verses, Karnivool story proves itself to still be an ever-evolving one.
Ten tracks that traverse feelings of frustration, catharsis and a rediscovery of identity, In Verses not only provides a fitting moment of reintroduction for long-time and casual Karnivool fans but for newcomers, the new album marks a striking gateway to a body of work built on an intense love for the craft.

Working with longtime producer and collaborator Forrester Savell, Karnivool began to see the final form of In Verses become clearer in 2024, with the band entering the album’s tracking phase in early 2025. Overcoming their own confusion and frustrations with the process was a crucial element of this album’s completion – within In Verses itself, the listener can hear the band tear its own walls down in pursuit of finding the light again.

“Our lives, our situations, our worlds…we’re very different from the last time we put out a record,” frontman Ian Kenny adds. “[In Verses is] an amalgamation of who we’ve become as a band, and as people, over the last ten years in pursuit of this record. That’s a helluva lot.”
“We’re surprised by where we landed on things in the most wonderful way. What we’re listening to is the fruits of everybody’s hard efforts, and who they are. There’s a lot of us in this record and it’s wonderful to enjoy it thoroughly, purely for the fact that it just makes us feel good. That’s why these records exist.”

Guitarist Drew Goddard furthers, “It strengthened the dynamic and the spirit of the band,” he explains. “It has gotten the individual members excited about the project of Karnivool – the creative vehicle that it is. There was a lot of struggle to get it to the point where it’s at, ready to be released to the world.”
“I kept listening back to the songs after long periods of time, and I just knew there was so much there; we had to finish it. It is already affecting my life in positive ways.”
In Verses, is a culmination of the last decade of life experiences that have brought Karnivool to this point. Twists and turns, of all varieties, have informed the evolution of the band’s five members as we hear them on this album.

The release of In Verses is as much of an achievement for Karnivool, as it is a love letter for the fans who have grown with the band; a fitting pay off for years of loyalty and consistent support. Nach dem Erfolg seiner ersten Solo-Tournee mit zahlreichen hochverlegten und ausverkauften Shows kehrt Bobby Vandamme, der „Govaneur“, im Mai 2026 auf noch größere Bühnen zurück und verspricht eine noch eindrucksvollere und wildere Show!

Gerade einmal ein paar Wochen ist es her, dass Bobby Vandamme seine Fans mit seiner ersten Solo-Tournee ins Staunen versetzte. Und erfolgreicher hätte sie wohl kaum laufen können.

Schon bei der ersten Show avancierte die Live-Version von „El Capitano“ zum regelrechten Hit - live vor Ort mit etlichen Moshpits sowie gleichwohl in den sozialen Netzwerken. Bei insgesamt zehn, zum allergrößten Teil hochverlegten und ausverkauften Shows in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz lieferte er eine Show ab, die seinesgleichen sucht - und die Fans waren begeistert. After fronting the Sex Pistols, John Lydon formed post-punk originators Public Image Ltd (PiL). Widely regarded as one of the most innovative bands of all time, their music and vision earned them 5 UK Top 20 Singles and 5 UK Top 20 Albums.

With a shifting line-up and unique sound – fusing rock, dance, folk, pop and dub – Lydon guided the band from their debut album ‘First Issue’ in 1978 through to 1992’s ‘That What Is Not’, before a 17 year hiatus.

Lydon reactivated PiL in 2009, touring extensively and releasing three critically acclaimed albums ‘This is PiL’ in 2012 followed by ‘What The World Needs Now…’ in 2015 and ‘End of World’ in 2023.

Kevin Morby – Singer-Songwriter aus dem Mittleren Westen der USA – bewegt sich mit seiner Musik im Spannungsfeld zwischen Weite und Nähe, Vergangenheit und Zukunft. Sein neues Album „Little Wide Open“ zeichnet sich durch eine Mischung aus nostalgischer Reflexion und klaren Beobachtungen des Lebens aus, inspiriert von seinen eigenen Ursprüngen und jenen Orten, die er auf seinen Reisen entdeckte.
Der neue Longplayer ist sein bereits achtes Studioalbum und wurde von Aaron Dessner produziert. Im Sommer 2024 hatte Dessner Morby eingeladen, The National bei ihrem London-Konzert zu supporten. Kurz darauf meldete sich Dessner – nach Produktionen für Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran und Gracie Abrams – mit dem Wunsch bei Morby, auch sein nächstes Album produzieren zu dürfen. Und so kam es dann. Das Album entstand unter Beteiligung vieler Mitwirkender: darunter Dessner selbst, der mehrere Instrumente einspielte, sowie Amelia Meath, Andrew Barr, Justin Vernon, Katie Gavin, Lucinda Williams, Meg Duffy und weitere.
Kevin Morby selbst bezeichnet „Little Wide Open“ als den dritten Teil einer Trilogie, die mit „Sundowner“ (2020) und „This Is A Photograph“ (2022) ihren Anfang nahm – Alben, die Herkunft, Erinnerung und Veränderung dokumentierten. Dessners Produktion verleiht den Songs neue Klarheit und Selbstsicherheit, ohne ihre Intimität zu beeinträchtigen. In ihrer Wärme und Offenheit erinnern die entstandenen neuen Tracks an Tom Pettys „Wildflowers“. Inhaltlich erzählt Morby von Liebe und Verlust, von Begegnungen und Schicksalsschlägen, von Momenten, die flüchtig und zugleich kostbar sind. “The thesis of this record is adapting and moving on. In the last few years, a lot of what I knew from childhood went away. I lost my father, and now I am the oldest living man in my family,” says vocalist/guitarist Chris Robertson. He continues: “There is a lot of darkness on this album—I bared my soul—but it always foreshadows light at the end of the tunnel.” Adds guitarist/backing vocalist Ben Wells: “We see something beautiful letting pain out—you come out a better person.”

In the past two decades, Black Stone Cherry has set a new standard for Southern rock, revitalizing the tradition with its burly riffs and stirring rock hooks. Since its formation in 2001, the four-piece brotherhood has remained Chris Robertson, vocals/guitar; Ben Wells, guitar/vocals; and John Fred Young, drums. Today, the band welcomes its dear friend Steve Jewell Jr. on bass/backing vocals. Steve is formerly of the blues-rock band OTIS who has opened for BSC many times. “I grew up around this music. Every time we play ‘Lonely Train,’ I remember driving with my dad and hearing it on the radio. I get emotional thinking about it,” Steve says. John Fred chimes in: “Steve is the young kid in the band—he doesn’t have as many wrinkles! He’s a monster player, and we have this insane chemistry with him.”

BSC’s last album, The Human Condition, released on October 30th, 2020 through Mascot Records, was their sixth consecutive No. 1 debut on the UK Rock Albums chart. The album’s lead single, „Again,“ was the band’s biggest single in over 10 years in America, peaking at #15, and it was BSC’s highest charting record ever in Canada, also landing in the Top 15. The album racked-up 50 million streams worldwide, and “Again” amassed 20 million streams total.

Over the years, BSC has both headlined and rocked 12,000-cap arena shows and shared the stage with a diverse roster of superstars, including Alter Bridge, Theory of a Deadman, Def Leppard, Gov’t Mule, Nickelback, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bad Company, Mötorhead, Halestorm, Stone Temple Pilots, The Darkness, and ZZ Top. In 2018, BSC performed in front of 100,000 people at the Download Festival as main support to Guns N’ Roses. In 2021, the band played the UK’s venerated Royal Albert Hall, immortalized on 2022’s live DVD Live From The Royal Albert Hall…Y’All.
Screamin’ At The Sky features all-new material written collaboratively while on tour. When it came time to record, BSC decided to try something it’s always dreamed of doing: tracking an album at The Plaza Theater in Glasgow, Kentucky, a legendary 1020-seat venue built in 1934 that boasts meticulous acoustics. “Every time we played the Plaza we wondered what it would sound like to record drums there. We finally decided to put all our eggs in one basket,” Chris says.

In June of 2022, the band rented the theater and brought its trusty engineer, Jordan Westfall, and all its recording equipment into the theater, setting up the basement as the control room and the stage as the live drum room. John Fred tore through his drum tracks like a beast, and they ended up sounding mountainous. Chris and Ben had time to record guitars in the theater before heading out on tour. Those tracks also sounded richly dynamic, and the rest of Screamin’ At The Sky was finished post-tour at the theater and at John Fred’s makeshift home studio.

Time between recording sessions, and incredible room ambience have resulted in a career high watermark for BSC. Screamin’ At The Sky bursts open with the title track which kicks off with the feral roar of dimed amps in a big open space. Then a bruising riff cycles through punctuated by what can be best described as John Bonham-sized drums in a sleek modern rock context. For the chorus, Chris delivers one of his finest performances, managing to be raw-nerved emotional but also smoothly melodic. “My idea for the chorus is a bunch of friends around a campfire screaming their pain away,” Chris says.

He is courageously autobiographical on the anthemic, “Nervous,” which opens with the lyrics: Memory lane, it’s ‘85, a baby boy with big blue eyes/And promises just waiting to be broken. The song balances slamming hard rock riffage with moody clean-guitar verses, reflective singing, and meticulously-crafted vocal melodies that gracefully rise until climaxing into an urgently-melodic chorus.

The barnburners continue with “When The Pain Comes,” an uplifting modern rock statement on confronting life’s challenges without succumbing to the pain. “That’s about digging your heels in the dirt and staying strong,” John Fred says. The single, “Out Of Pocket,” became something of an instant classic when the guys debuted it on their UK tour last summer. It epitomizes the band’s prowess at mixing sweetly weary verses with incendiary choruses. BSC lighten things up with “Smile, World,” a brawny sing-along about not taking life too seriously.
Screamin’ At The Sky has been a catharsis for Black Stone Cherry, and the quartet is savoring the calm after the storm. “A lot of bands would have thrown in the towel, but we came out the other side with some of the best music we’ve ever made,” Ben enthuses. Chris concludes: “ We’re in a great space—this band is as much as a family as it’s ever been.”

Industrial metal trailblazers Fear Factory have officially announced their return to European stages with the “Cybernetic Domination Tour,” an extensive headline run set to take place from late August through October. The tour will feature a powerful and diverse supporting lineup including Japanese metalcore force Crystal Lake, Polish blackened death metal veterans Hate, and dark alternative act The Nocturnal Affair.

Contrast gives art dimension. The juxtaposition of two seemingly disparate elements sparks friction, bringing life to any canvas. The Devil Wears Prada rely on contrast as they nimbly balance metallic turbulence, hardcore spirit, provocatively eloquent lyricism, and melodic exorcism. In between these opposing extremes, the band—Mike Hranica [vocals], Jeremy DePoyster [guitar, vocals], Kyle Sipress [guitar], Jonathan Gering [keys, synths, programming, production], Giuseppe Capolupo [drums], and Mason Nagy [bass]—have fashioned an ever-evolving signature style buttressed by layers of sonic hues. Such dynamic divergence defines the group’s eighth full-length offering, Color Decay [Solid State].

“It’s about contrast,” observes Mike. “We’ve really tried to create individualism within the songs and make them distinct. The title references the disintegration and discoloration we experience from daily struggles. Those feelings come with mental health, getting older, and dealing with it. We confront these fights over a lengthy period of time. This record goes up and down, which I’ve always liked for an LP. You will want to listen to it from front-to-back.”

“It’s a transparent look inward at what it’s like to be a mid-30-year-old trying to find a balance,“ Jeremy adds. “You have to work, hang out with your family, pay attention to your friendships, and still take care of yourself. The music is the moment you can be your total self though. It’s a safe place to release those emotions that are hard to open up about.”

They’ve harbored this space since forming in 2005. Speaking to the band’s growing influence, fans voted 2009’s With Roots Above and Branches Below one of the “5 Greatest Metalcore Albums” in a Revolver poll as the outlet christened it “a true metalcore landmark.” The group have notched six consecutive Top 5 debuts on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart, including Dead Throne [2011], 8:18 [2013], Space EP [2015], Transit Blues [2016], The Act [2019], and ZII EP [2021]. The latter served as a sequel to one of their most beloved projects 2010’s Zombie EP. Upon arrival, mxdwn applauded ZII as “phenomenal,” and Metal Injection went as far as to claim, “This mini-concept has outlived the zombie revival.” In the wake of the EP, the group exceeded a-quarter-of-a-billion cumulative streams and views.

During 2021, the musicians decamped to remote hideaways together in Wisconsin and Desert Hot Springs, California. This time around, Jon took the reins as producer, collaborating closely to assemble a rich sonic architecture for what would become Color Decay.

“We feel very comfortable in the process we’ve established by working with a producer who’s literally in our band,” smiles Jeremy. “Mike and I have been doing this for 17 years now. Jon took on the role of project leader and figured out how to extract the best parts from everyone and put them into a unified piece. He excelled on ZII and pulled an amazing story out of Mike. It turned into a super collaborative project. We articulated these dark themes and melodies and connected them musically.”

“We created a lot of momentum with ZII and felt very rewarded by the positive experience,” Mike adds. “It steamrolled into these new songs. I tried to paint with a broad brush and did my best to color the vision.”
They initially teased out the record with “Watchtower” and “Sacrifice,” generating excitement and anticipation. Setting the stage for Color Decay, a driving riff uplifted by luminous keys gives way to a subdued verse on the single “Salt.” Melodic vocals hover above an otherworldly soundscape before snapping back into a hypnotic hook, “Pour the salt into the wounds, let the rain wash over you.”

“It’s a resignation to suffering,” Mike notes. “It essentially says, ‘I’m already beaten down, so keep pouring salt into the wound. Why not?’ It’s a realistic reaction. Go ahead. Push me off the edge now.”
Then, there’s “Time.” An airy intro bleeds into a pummeling groove punctuated by vicious vocals before eventually spiraling towards what Mike describes as “the goth dance party.”

“As much as the songs look inward, there are some bigger narratives,” the frontman goes on. “I wanted to blow the ceiling off what I view as the cliches within heavy music. Sonically, ‘Time’ goes to some awesome places. In real life, time itself moves incredibly fast, but it moves incredibly slow. The song addresses that.”
“Broken” translates tense emotions into a cathartic chorus, “I know I’ve got my problems.”

“Jon struggles with anxiety, and most of the guys in the band do to a certain degree,” Jeremy states. “A lot of the lyrics detail a very personal experience with anxiety. The content is relatable, but it’s in another lane for us.”

Warbling vocals groan between menacing synths and crunching distortion on the head-bashing “Hallucinate.” Mike screams, “I’d do anything for some kind of relief.”

“I was reading The Morning Star,” Mike reveals. “It switches between these different perspectives. One of them belongs to a nurse who’s taking care of a patient struggling with a brain tumor. As the tumor expands in your brain, it can cause pain and hallucinations. The track is essentially about a person hallucinating alone in a hospital bed and seeing these horrific images. It’s a narrative song, and its industrial nature really spoke to me. I don’t think it’s like anything we’ve ever done before.”

Color Decay concludes with the heart-wrenching finale “Cancer.” Guitar marches underneath a searing refrain, “I hope that it’s cancer and not something else, because I don’t need anymore things I don’t want to talk about.”

“One of Jon’s heroes passed away and the first thing he thought was, ‘I hope he died peacefully rather than from suicide or a drug overdose’,” says Mike. “It’s an introspective look at how difficult it can be to watch your heroes pass away from all of these terrible ways and the guilt of this immediate thought about how this person died.”

Due to such openhearted honesty, Color Decay reacted in a big way, piling up over 50 million streams. Hysteria rated it “8-out-of-10,” and Metal Hammer attested, “Color Decay might just be their finest hour” in a “4-out-of-5” star review. The band carried this excitement into a very special Deluxe Edition in 2023. They stripped down “Broken,” “Salt,” “Sacrifice,” and “Cancer” with emotionally charged and arresting acoustic renditions, added two live tracks, and remixes by Fairlane and Ray Volpe. However, they deepened the vision further with a pair of originals. Tallying 2.1 million Spotify streams, “Reaching” storms out of the gate with a trudging riff and screams from Mike, steamrolling towards another disarmingly hummable chant. “Ignorance” quickly reeled in 1.2 million Spotify streams. The vocal melody echoes with raw feeling as Jeremy pleads, “Help me I need to get past this.”

By contrasting these extremes, The Devil Wears Prada achieve balance like never before.
“There’s a focus to the album we haven’t had in a very long time,” Jeremy leaves off. “Coming out of the last 2 years, we’ve reflected on what is important to us—playing in this group and performing live. This record proves we’re not going anywhere. In our minds, we’re very focused on continuing to deliver the best possible music we can.”
“We fought so hard for this, and this album represents where we’re at now,” Mike concludes. “We’ll die on the hill of being The Devil Wears Prada. I believe you can define our band by Color Decay.”

In Ireland Picture This are Super Stars; their debut single ‘Take My Hand’ is a veritable anthem, the only band ever to sell out 5 successive 3 Arenas (Dublin’s equivalent to London’s O2), and the 4 huge arena shows in Belfast and Dublin in December 2025 sold out in less than one hour with 50k tickets sold. Where did it all begin?

In the small rural Irish town of Athy lived four young men. They each grew up in what is, as estimated by drummer Jimmy Rainsford, a “grey area, a melting pot of craziness and characters” and had interconnected relationships as you tend to do if you’re from a tiny place: they knew each other or vaguely of each other. But it wasn’t until singer Ryan Hennessy uploaded an iPhone video of himself performing an original song onto social media that their shared success story began.

That footage for ‘Take My Hand’ went viral in their home country in 2015 and among those whose hearts and minds it set alight was touring drummer Jimmy, who was back at home with his parents burned out and doubting his chosen career path. There, in front of his screen, he had a premonition that Ryan, then 20-years-old, was his ticket to a whole new legitimised level of musicianship. “Why it was so shocking was that Ryan wasn’t a musician, he wasn’t even a singer – he was a footballer! – but here he was singing and writing songs,” recalls Jimmy, who reached out to him. “I’d always wanted a vehicle to get properly into the music industry as an artist. It was strange that the two of us were from this same town and I was looking for the same thing Ryan was looking for.”
It was true that Ryan was an unlikely contender for frontman of Ireland’s biggest up-and-coming pop band. He grew up on an estate, doing activities relevant for teenage boys like him. Though he wrote poetry in private because his Dad and Grandad had, “you couldn’t walk out into the street and go look at this poem I wrote,” Ryan says. “It was football, clothes and girls and if I saw someone walk down the hall in school with a guitar, I’d be like, really?” When he was 18, he reluctantly chose music as a subject in his final year of school. Since he didn’t play instruments or know music programming, singing was his only option. “When I knew I had to sing at school, I went down to my Dad in the living room and sang an Irish traditional song in front of him to make sure I wasn’t terrible,” remembers Ryan. “He was speechless. The first thing he said was ‘where has this come from? I’ve never even heard you sing around the house.’ After that, everyone told me I had to be a musician and writing poetry turned into music.”

This was a sharp contrast to Jimmy’s upbringing: the youngest of 9 in a musical family living in the outer countryside of Athy. “My family are always hugely supportive, especially my parents. When I first got a drum kit as a kid, my parents let me set it up in their bedroom. I would sneak in every morning and lightly play as they pretended to still be asleep,” says Jimmy. He credits that environment, where ABBA and The Beatles played from his sister’s room and arguments were mainly about who got access to the shared Walkman before bed, along with the local Youth Club with nurturing his talent and love of music. It was
in that Club where Jimmy met the band’s Owen Cardiff as a child and where Owen’s Dad taught him to play his first chords.

Together, Ryan and Jimmy re-recorded and released ‘Take My Hand’. Immediately, they became the Irish buzz band of the moment. The demand was there for a gig, which sold out in 30 seconds, and had to be upgraded to the nearly 1000-cap venue The Academy. “When I started singing I used to make people turn the other way around because I didn’t want them to see me – I was so nervous,” Ryan says. “I remember Jimmy standing in Jimmy’s studio going ‘I can’t do it, it’s impossible, I can never ever stand on stage and sing and play guitar’, which I was learning at the time. Jimmy said there was no choice – the demand was so great.” Jimmy was ecstatic with passion for Ryan’s talent and what they could do with it. “I knew with this band there was going to be no ceiling with how successful we could be – and that’s actually really scary,” says Jimmy.
They needed two more members to create Picture This, a full-band and gigging entity. Jimmy asked Cliff Deane, a local guitarist and friend who naturally had seen Ryan’s viral video, if he’d join. “Whatever you need, I’m here, I’ll drive anywhere, I just need to be in this band,” Cliff said at the time. “Because I just knew straight away when I heard Ryan sing, this guy is not a local normal singer. He’s not going to be a guy that just sings in the pubs on the weekends – this guy is destined for a lot more. I knew he needed good people around him and that could be me and we could make it.”

Owen was a musician who grew up on Ryan’s estate and worked a high-powered job with travel opportunities at Intel making computer chips when he got the call from Jimmy. Though Owen missed the initial debut Picture This gig, he was in bed in America on a work trip watching it as someone in attendance video-called him. “The minute it was over I emailed my boss saying that I’m going to hand my notice in when I get home,” Owen says. “It still is the talk of the factory.” Owen’s career risk paid off: no sooner than Picture This began in full force, the four men were playing stadium shows across Ireland, supported The Jonas Brothers on their UK and European shows and headlined their local Electric Picnic Festival. Their first four albums have received notoriety and critical success in Ireland, including number 1 releases on the albums chart and endless Top 40 hits.
Much of this achievement is down to their distinct and defined roles within the band, each member complimenting and supporting the others. Unequivocally, they believe Ryan is the star and one of Ireland’s truest current musical geniuses. According to Jimmy, without Ryan’s looks, angelic voice and poetic lyricism there would be no Picture This. “I’m always pushing Ryan out the door – saying go, do it. And I’ll be right there behind the scenes,” Jimmy says, who himself is the leader and backbone of the band.

“It’s always been Jimmy pushing me and showing me all this potential in me that I don’t realise,” says Ryan. “It’s a very selfless role that Jimmy plays, knowing that it’s going to benefit us. He’s my cheerleader and if Jimmy didn’t believe in me, I don’t know where I’d be in my life right now – I was on my way down the bad road, until music.” As for Owen, he acts as the joker of the band, providing light relief when it’s needed, while Cliff has the people skills necessary for fame: interfacing with the music industry and fans, managing that so the surprisingly shy and reserved frontman Ryan doesn’t have to.

But beyond that, Picture This are not your average male pop group. Though they have pop bangers in their arsenal, soaring stadium tracks and electronic-leaning dance-a-long numbers, everything they make is heartfelt and genuinely special. “It’s not surface level pop music,” explains Jimmy. “When you come from a rural town with not much opportunity, everyone’s a lot more emotional, everything’s a lot deeper, because that’s all you have. When things are easy you don’t need to access emotion as much. I find that whenever I go home, there’s a lot of deep trauma and emotion there that is stewing all the time and the only way people can talk about it properly is through an art form like song.”
To explain the soul of Picture This, Ryan points to the archetype of the Irishman 50 years ago: highly expressive, prone to writing poetry and making art. “They were putting their feelings out there constantly and I think there’s a new wave of Irish men who are more willing to express themselves in an open way,” says Ryan. You can see Ryan embody that in the way he compulsively writes, sharing dozens – hundreds – of songs in a Dropbox with the other members, with them barely having a chance to keep up. “With songwriting – I can’t stop, I wish I could stop writing, I drive myself mental constantly writing all the time,” he says. “I can’t have a conversation with anyone without writing a song in my head. It’s a blessing too because I know musicians who struggle to write…but they’re not Irish.”

Their ambitions have scaled: they now want to be the greatest new stadium pop rock band in the world. Building on the rich legacy of Irish pop bands – U2, The Script, Snow Patrol – Picture This intends to fill the gap in the 2020s market for those who miss the 00s era when Kings of Leon and The Killers reigned large. “We love bands who play big anthems and there isn’t a lot of that anymore,” laments Jimmy. “We saw that as a niche. It’s ingrained in our culture and it feels right that we would be that next band together.”

They’ll do this, they say, by focusing on being a straight-forward band, stripping away the electronic elements they’ve looked to in the past, for this fifth album. “If you look back over the decades, real bands that played real music, their songs are still around,” muses Cliff. “I think a lot of that is because there’s personality to them. You can produce a song with a singer and one producer and it sounds incredible, but you just don’t get that personality.”

This is not the start of the journey for the four men from Athy but it is a fresh start, one with renewed purpose, clarity of their intent and the ambition to be your next favourite pop band – wherever in the world you’re from.

Natürlich hat er auch eine Reihe alter Hits im Gepäck und es entsteht dieses typische Zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl, wofür man ihn kennt und schätzt.

Eigentlich hätte Prinz Pi bereits 2025 auf große Tour gehen sollen, diese Pläne muss er nun jedoch ins heurige Jahr verschieben. Als Grund dafür nennt er in seiner Instagram-Story "organisatorische Gründe". Die Tour wird jetzt im Oktober 2026 stattfinden und soll gleichzeitig auch Pis Abschied vom Livegeschäft bedeuten.

Wenn von Deutschrap die Rede ist, darf der Name Prinz Pi nicht unerwähnt bleiben. Der Berliner wird von seinen Fans völlig zu Recht auf dieselbe Stufe wie Größen des Rap à la Sido, Eko Fresh und Co. gestellt. Vor allem seine kontroversen und sozialkritischen Songs sind der Grund dafür, dass die Shows von Prinz Pi regelmäßig zu den absoluten Highlights auf einschlägigen Festivals gehören.

Der 1979 im Berliner Stadtteil Charlottenburg geborene Friedrich Kauz macht sich zunächst unter dem Pseudonym Prinz Porno einen Namen in der deutschen Hip-Hop-Szene. Sein künstlerisches Talent lebt der Sohn einer tschechischen Flüchtlingsfamilie fürs Erste als begabter Sprayer aus. Der Durchbruch gelingt ihm dann jedoch mit seiner Leidenschaft für die Musik. ins Tonstudio Prinz Pi alias Friedrich Kauz setzt anstatt auf eine Karriere im riskanten Musikbusiness zunächst auf eine krisensichere Ausbildung. Er besucht das humanistische Gymnasium in Berlin-Steglitz und beginnt 2002, an der Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee Kommunikationsdesign zu studieren. Allerdings soll seine Leidenschaft fürs Rappen seinen Lebensweg dann doch in eine andere Richtung beeinflussen.

Im Jahr 1998 sorgt der Hauptstädter mit einem Song auf der Hip-Hop-Compilation „Berlin Nr. 1 Vol. 1“, auf der unter anderem auch Kool Savas zu hören ist, für Aufsehen. Mit seinem eigenen Sampler „Porno Privat“ samt dem darauf befindlichen Track „Keine Liebe“ gelingt Prinz Pi dann ein Siegeszug durch das Internet – und das, obwohl das Album eigentlich gar nicht für die Öffentlichkeit gedacht ist und über Freunde und Bekannte ins Netz gelangt.

Prinz Pi darf sich völlig zu Recht als Arbeitstier bezeichnen, denn er textet und produziert am laufenden Band. Geprägt sind seine Werke von Anfang an von gesellschaftskritischen Thematiken: Der Rapper behandelt weltweite Missstände kritisch und teils provokant.
Die Touren von Prinz Pi führen durch unzählige Konzertsäle – dazu geht der Musiker zahlreiche Kollaborationen mit anderen Künstlern ein. Auch im Rahmen entsprechender Festivals sind Tickets für Prinz Pi heiß begehrt.

2004 verabschiedet sich Friedrich Kauz vorübergehend aus dem Business, um ein Jahr später unter dem neuen Künstlernamen Prinz Pi wieder auf der Bildfläche zu erscheinen. Sein Solo-Sampler „Teenage Mutant Horror Show“ landet in seiner zweiten Version sogar für zwei Wochen in den Top 50 der deutschen Album-Charts.
Es folgen viele Tracks, Alben und Gemeinschaftsproduktionen, unter anderem mit Casper und RAF Camora. Prinz Pis unermüdlicher Arbeitseifer wird mit ausverkauften Konzerthallen und zahlreichen Chart-Platzierungen belohnt. Auch im Privatleben läuft es für den dreifachen Familienvater rund. Ein besonderes Highlight in der Karriere von Prinz Pi ist seine Reise in das afrikanische Tansania im Jahre 2008. Zusammen mit einheimischen Jugendlichen nimmt er im Rahmen der „Virus Free Generation Hip-Hop“-Tour mehrere Songs auf. In denen widmet er sich der weltweit, jedoch vor allem in Afrika immer noch weit verbreiteten Immunschwächekrankheit AIDS.

Prinz Pi kann sich zweifelsohne in die Riege der erfolgreichsten Deutschrap-Künstler einreihen. Den Beweis hierfür liefert nicht nur die Größe seiner Anhängerschaft, sondern ebenso sein regelmäßiges Auftauchen in den deutschen Charts, unter anderem mit den Alben „Kompass ohne Norden“ (2013), „pp=mc²“ (2015) und „Im Westen nix Neues“ (2016), die alle auf Platz 1 landen. Auszeichnungen wie der Deutsche Musikautorenpreis zeigen außerdem, dass Prinz Pi auch außerhalb seines typischen Publikums gut ankommt.

Die Band wurde 2011 gegründet, als Sängerin Chrissy Costanza, Gitarrist Dan Gow und Schlagzeuger Will Ferri gerade einmal 15 Jahre alt waren. Hey ihr Lieben,
ich muss leider die komplette Tour verschieben.
Die letzten Monate waren für mich mental sehr schwierig. Letztes Jahr habe ich persönlich einiges durchgemacht und war auch deshalb in Therapie. Ich habe wirklich gedacht, dass ich es schaffe und bereit für die Tour bin, aber gerade merke ich, dass es doch noch schwerer ist, als ich mir eingestehen wollte. Gleichzeitig arbeite ich intensiv an dem Album, das bald rauskommt, und alles zusammen hat mich am Ende
mehr belastet, als ich erwartet habe. Mir ist es extrem wichtig, euch die bestmögliche Show zu geben und euren Erwartungen gerecht zu werden.
Genau deshalb treffe ich diese Entscheidung. Ich möchte nicht auf die Bühne gehen, wenn ich euch nicht die Energie und die Show geben kann, die ihr verdient habt. Bitte vertraut mir, wenn ich sage, dass das gerade die richtige Entscheidung ist. Ich möchte mir die Zeit nehmen,
wieder richtig bereit zu sein und euch die Shows zu geben, auf die wir alle warten. Die Tour wird verschoben und die neuen Termine sind ab sofort im Verkauf. Eure Tickets für die Merci Tour behalten natürlich ihre Gültigkeit.

Außerdem haben wir die Tour komplett neu gedacht, umbenannt und inhaltlich umstrukturiert, damit die Shows noch stärker, persönlicher und genau so werden, wie ich sie mir für euch vorstelle. Danke für euer Verständnis und euren Support. Das bedeutet mir wirklich sehr viel.

Nach einem beeindruckenden Jahr 2026 bleibt Lune auch 2027 ganz oben auf dem Radar der deutschsprachigen Musikszene. Die Künstlerin aus Heidelberg, Anfang zwanzig, hat sich längst von einem Geheimtipp zur festen Größe entwickelt – nicht nur auf Streaming- Plattformen, sondern auch auf den großen Bühnen im deutschsprachigen Raum.

Mit ihrer emotionalen Single „Ein letztes Mal“ berührte sie im Sommer 2024 Millionen, bevor sie in einer spannenden Kollaboration mit Céline die Power-Ballade „Komm in meine Arme“ veröffentlichte.
